Hugh Jackman only agreed to hit pause on his friendly feud with Ryan Reynolds at the request of their wives, actresses Deborra-Lee Furness and Blake Lively.

The action stars have been playfully hurling insults at one another for a few years, but earlier this week (20Apr20), they agreed to call a temporary truce for charity as they offered to join forces to help one lucky family run a lemonade stand as part of the All-In Challenge.

However, Jackman admits they wouldn’t have stopped their well-documented sparring if it hadn’t been for their other halves, who had to intervene.

Discussing the dispute on U.S. breakfast show Today, Jackman insisted, “It is not over! But… we are in extraordinary times.

“Deb actually said to me, ‘Look, babe, this is really a time to rethink all that and maybe it’s time to build a bridge.’ I wasn’t ready for all that, but actually Blake reached out, so Blake and Deb have been brokering this thing, and we came up with participating in the All-In Challenge…”

The initiative invites celebrities to offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences to fans who donate funds, which will go directly to officials at food charities Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen, and No Kid Hungry to provide aid to those in need during the co********** p*********c.

“That’s how much I really wanna support the frontline workers and make sure everybody has food, and that sort of thing…,” Jackman continued, before sneaking in a jab at Reynolds on air.

“We have been reaching out to Blake, we talk to her (regularly) because can you imagine quarantine, stuck in the house with Ryan?” he quipped. “It must be brutal for her…, so we’re reaching out.”

As for how he’s been spending his forced downtime in isolation, Jackman said, “I’m cooking, we’re playing backgammon…, I’m doing jigsaw puzzles. I was a little proud of my bread that I made yesterday… Literally the kids came up to dinner and they just looked at me, they couldn’t compute; they just presumed I got someone to do it for me!”

Jackman and Reynolds are among the latest batch of stars to step up for the All-In Challenge – Gwyneth Paltrow, Pink, Kevin Hart, Will Ferrell, Meek Mill, and Justin Bieber have also offered to hang out with donors for the cause, while Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro have made headlines by offering one lucky fan the chance to join them on the set of their next Martin Scorsese movie.

By Friday (24Apr20), the campaign had raised more than $18 million . All prizes can be viewed here: https://www.fanatics.com/all-in-challenge/x-12589906+z-9713580-3838082054.
